Live is one of two environment types. Faxes sent in the live environment are delivered to real fax machines and deduct real credits.

Prerequisites

Sending a live fax requires two things:
  1. Credit card on file - add a payment method to your account in the dashboard. This activates your live environment and lets you generate fx_live_ API keys.
  2. Credits purchased - buy one or more credit packages under the live environment. Each live environment starts with a zero balance.
Both must be in place before the first fax can be submitted. You can create additional live environments to separate activity - for example, one per application or client. Each additional live environment also requires its own credit purchase.

Billing and Credits

Every live environment carries its own prepaid credit balance. Credits are not shared or poolable between environments - each environment’s balance is topped up and consumed independently. See Credits for the full hold/capture/release lifecycle and balance queries.
