The fax API market, with the receipts.
Most fax APIs were built when 'modern' meant SOAP. We pulled the receipts on the four alternatives most teams evaluate mintfax against.
How we wrote these
Every claim on the four pages above is sourced from the vendor’s own public documentation, pricing pages, or migration guides as of May 2026. We linked the sources. If a claim looks wrong, email us - we’ll verify and correct.
We do not write comparison pages by paraphrasing from competitor case studies. We do not invent benchmarks. We do not use anonymized “competitor X” framing. The four named alternatives are mintfax’s actual market context, and the buyer deserves a straight comparison.
What if you’re using something else?
If you’re evaluating mintfax against a vendor not on this list - Notifyre, Fax.Plus, SignalWire, RingCentral Fax, Upland InterFAX, iFax, ClickSend, HumbleFax, Concord, eGoldFax, WestFax, FaxDrop, or a self-hosted HylaFAX setup - email [email protected] and we’ll write up the specific comparison. Most of these we’ve already evaluated internally; we just haven’t published the page yet.
- mintfax vs. Documo (mFax) Documo is HITRUST-certified, SOC 2 Type II, with EHR connectors, and signs free BAAs. They also gate API access to a $150-a-month Business plan and bundle inbound IDP that not every team needs. mintfax delivers the developer-API path Documo's pricing tier walls off.
- mintfax vs. eFax Developer eFax Developer is XML-over-HTTPS POST. eFax Enterprise is REST-flavored but XML-payloaded. eFax Corporate has FedRAMP High and Epic integrations - that's a real moat for F500 healthcare and federal workloads. For everyone else, mintfax is a JSON-native fax API with HIPAA-grade compliance on day one of self-serve.
- mintfax vs. Sinch (Phaxio v3) When Sinch absorbed Phaxio and shipped v3, they explicitly removed HMAC webhook signatures. Migration also broke single-recipient sends and forced a new account. We're what Phaxio v2.1 customers wished v3 had been.
- mintfax vs. Telnyx Programmable Fax Telnyx prints $0.007 per page on its homepage. The fax leg only - SIP trunking minutes are extra. And Telnyx will not auto-retry a failed fax; you build the retry loop. Most teams end up paying more in engineering time than they save on per-page rate.
